The Office of International Affairs (OIA), established in October 2021, leads Presidency University’s internationalisation initiatives by building strategic global partnerships and translating them into meaningful opportunities for students, faculty and researchers.
Our guiding commitment is “International Exposure to Everyone.” We believe that global exposure should not be limited to a privileged few. Students differ in their academic interests, aspirations, readiness and financial circumstances. OIA therefore facilitates multiple pathways to make international academic experiences accessible to a wider university community.
Through partnerships with universities worldwide, OIA supports student and faculty mobility, research internships, semester exchanges, Master’s progression, dual-degree opportunities, international teaching, collaborative research and global learning experiences on campus.

One Vision. Multiple Global Pathways.
- GO ABROAD | Funded research internships, semester exchanges, short-term immersion, Master’s progression (3+2, 3.5+1.5, 4+1) and dual-degree pathways.
- LEARN GLOBALLY AT PRESIDENCY | Visiting international faculty, global masterclasses and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). Three courses have already incorporated COIL.
- RESEARCH GLOBALLY | International research internships, doctoral mobility, joint research initiatives, scholarly publications and research supervision.
- TEACH GLOBALLY | Faculty academic mobility and funded teaching assignments at partner universities, complemented by visiting academics teaching at Presidency.
Making international opportunities affordable
Reciprocal tuition-fee waivers, partner scholarships, funded internships, stipends and the Chancellor’s Bon Voyage Scholarship reduce barriers to participation. Eligible students can pursue selected exchange opportunities without paying additional tuition fees to the host institution, subject to programme conditions.
For Presidency, the financial value of internationalisation is measured not only by revenue generated, but also by financial barriers removed.
Internationalisation for faculty and researchers
More than 15 faculty members have participated in international academic mobility, including funded teaching opportunities, while 10+ PhD scholars have undertaken overseas semester or research mobility. Collaboration with international researchers supports joint publications, research supervision and proposals. International Teaching Week 2026 is planned to bring 35 international faculty to Presidency for teaching, research interaction and partnership development.
Beyond MoUs: Partnerships That Deliver
Partnerships are cultivated as evolving academic relationships, progressing from introductory engagement to teaching, mobility, COIL, collaborative research and deeper institutional cooperation. An in-house International Mobility Dashboard tracks students’ host destinations, programme duration, academic progress and expected return, supporting student welfare and evidence-based decision-making.
Institutional impact
The University’s international academic networks and global visibility have expanded alongside reported improvements in its QS and Times Higher Education (THE) rankings. Inbound immersion programmes and international academic engagement also create opportunities for international recruitment and programme revenue. Different aspirations. Multiple pathways. - Maintain records and disseminate information related to internationalization.

- Develop joint degree programs, research collaborations, and exchange opportunities.
- Facilitate international conferences, workshops, and symposiums to share knowledge and best practices.
International Student and Scholar Support:
- Provide comprehensive support services for international students and scholars, including visa assistance, orientation programs, and cultural integration activities.
- Develop mentorship programs pairing international students with local students and alumni.
- Enhance academic support services tailored to the needs of international students.
Global Learning and Curriculum Integration:
- Integrate global perspectives into the curriculum across all disciplines.
- Promote study abroad programs, internships, and service-learning opportunities in diverse cultural settings.
- Support faculty in developing and delivering globally-oriented courses and programs.
Research and Innovation:
- Promote international research collaborations that address global challenges.
- Provide support for faculty and student research projects with an international focus.
- Host visiting scholars and researchers to enrich the academic environment.

Administrative Structure of OIA
The OIA supports the development and growth of the Global Gateways, each of which is managed by a smaller team located at the Bangalore Campus. These leaders identify the best ways to achieve the established goals for the gateways and ensure that the gateways operate in alignment with the strategies of the University.
