Gaming and Graphics and AR & VR Lab
The Gaming, Graphics, and AR and VR Lab at Presidency University aims to propel advancement in the fields of game development, graphics, virtual and augmented reality, and mixed reality by designing and validating recent technologies and their applications and assisting on-campus research projects.
Augmented and virtual reality combine the virtual world and the real world by overlaying digital interactive content on the real world. These concepts have the remarkable ability to alter our perception of the world. Visit the lab to explore how an AR/VR experience is created.
The Gaming, Graphics, and ARVR Lab is equipped with 100 high-end machines with AMD Radeon RX 550X 4GB DDR5 graphics cards and 16 GB of RAM. The system has 1 TB of hard disc capacity and a 23.8-inch diagonal FHD display monitor. The Lab has acquired technologies that include various software such as Unity, Affinity Bundle (photo, illustrator, publisher), Toon Boom Harmony, Blender, Unreal, TwinMotion, and design platforms.
In addition to that, VR Studio Lab is equipped with four workstations with Quadro RTX 4000 graphics profiles. And 4 Oculus Quest 2 VR headsets and 60 Irusu semi-immersive VR headsets for the development and demonstration of VR applications to help students experiment and create innovative products in the field of immersive environments and game development.
The advanced lab facilitates innovation for academic and industry needs for state-of-the-art production of ideas in an immersive environment. The team of experts and mentors assists students in their research and design in AR and VR classrooms and industry-supported live projects.
