Eligibility
Candidates must have completed their 10+2/PUC with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Additional subjects can include Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Electronics, or Computer Science. Candidates must have appeared in a recognized national or state-level entrance examination such as CET, COMED-K, JEE, or those conducted by Presidency University. Acceptable qualifications include certificates from State/Central Government Boards or International Boards like the University of Cambridge "A" Level Certificate or International Baccalaureate (IB), Geneva. Candidates must have secured at least 45% marks in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, and 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
Programme Overview
Petroleum engineering is a specialized multidisciplinary field encompassing the upstream and downstream sectors of the oil and gas industry. It includes petroleum exploration, drilling, reservoir, production, digital oil fields, pipeline, refining, marketing & distribution, and health & safety. The program focuses on key aspects such as subsurface evaluation, well system design, drilling operations, reservoir management, and fluid handling, using geo-scientific and engineering methods. It also incorporates project economics and resource valuation for decision-making. With a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application, the program creates professionals adept at optimizing resource extraction and management while adhering to environmental and economic considerations. Graduates find opportunities in domestic and international markets across the petroleum industry.
