Pro Vice Chancellors

Prof. Md. Sameeruddin Khan is a distinguished academician and visionary leader in higher education. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at City University of London, holding a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering, an M.Tech, and a B.E., each testament to his relentless pursuit of scholarly excellence and innovation.

With a remarkable 30 years of experience, Prof. Khan has held key leadership roles, including director at Sree Dattha Institutions and executive director at Chandigarh University. His leadership advanced educational standards, secured prestigious accreditations, and established partnerships with global tech giants such as Microsoft and Amazon.

Beyond his administrative prowess, Prof. Khan also serves as an advisory member of the Academic Leadership Council of uLektz, a senior member of the Governing Council for Higher Education at IIHT, and a distinguished member of the Academic Advisory Board of Idealabs, Hyderabad. His exemplary contributions have earned him prestigious accolades, including the APJ Kalam Excellence Award and the Teaching Excellence Award. Dr. Khan's strategic vision and transformative leadership continue to drive academic and research excellence, fostering a culture of pioneering innovation in academia. 

Dr. Vidya Shankar Shetty is an eminent educationist and author who has served in various capacities in both the K-12 sector and higher education. With a start of her career as a lecturer at St. Agnes College, Mangalore, she moved to Bangalore, furthering her career with the Presidency Group with whom she set up Schools, Colleges and a University periodically. She was also the Director - Academics for Manipal K-12 Education, setting up 40 institutions countrywide and abroad. She was also associated with Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology and Takshaa Academy for the Artist as a course coordinator and as principal & consultant, respectively. She was the Editor-in-Chief of Mentor-the only magazine for principals across the country and Director at Edumedia India Pvt. Ltd. for over eight years.

She has been the Pro Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Examinations at reputed universities before returning to Presidency University as a Pro Vice Chancellor. 

Her International exposure in education was as Chief Academic Officer for Dr. B R Shetty group in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, where she set up schools for the group and in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, where she was on the advisory board for schools and responsible for compliance and performance standards. 

Dr. Vidya has been bestowed with many awards as recognition of her work. She received the World Didac Award for MENTOR-the only magazine for Principals across the country, the Best Team Player Award from Edumedia India Ltd. and the Best Contributor Award by the Bar Council of India (BCI). For her exemplary services to the group, she received the Greatest Contributor to the Business Award from John Mackinson, CEO, PEARSON.

Dr. Vidya has published papers and blogs in reputed and recognized UGC journals. She is invited by universities and colleges to speak on various emerging trends in education. With a stretch of experience in academic governance from K-12 to higher education, she has been a key member of various management teams, aligning and involving in the development of organizations with key drivers and action owners of many management teams.

Dr. Vidya has proven to be conscientious and analytical in her approach to education, emphasizing on skill centered learning. With a perspective on the direction education must take to match the trends of the time, demands of industry and the next generation expectation, Dr. Vidya Shetty has made an impressionable difference in all establishments she has been associated with.

Dr. Sivaperumal S. is a seasoned academician and visionary leader with 20 years of experience in higher education, research, and global academic collaborations. He holds two doctoral degrees in communication systems and non-linear controls. He has published more than 40 research papers (IEEE, Q1 journals), with an h-index of 14 and 1,200+ citations, secured INR 2 crore in funded projects, and holds three Indian patents.

A strong advocate of international collaboration, he has established 400+ global collaborations across 40+ countries, travelled to 30+ nations, and hosted a Nobel Laureate. His mentorship has enabled 1,000+ students to secure 300+ research internships at CERN, EPFL, NTU, and more. With partnerships across DST, ISRO, DRDO, HAL, and industry leaders, Dr. Sivaperumal drives research and innovation, strengthening Presidency University’s global impact.

Dr. Sivaperumal has held various key administrative positions, including Dean, R&D and International Relations; Director for International Relations; Director for Campus to Corporate (Placement and Training); Deputy Director of the Centre for Industry, International, and Research Collaborations; and Head of Engineering R&D, and he has served on various apex committees such as the Board of Management (BoM), Academic Council, Research Board, and Planning and Monitoring Board. He was also the Chairman of the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBSC), approved by the Dept. of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. He has served on the NAAC Steering Committee and as NBA Program Coordinator.
