On May 29, 2024, the Alumni Association of Presidency University held its inaugural Executive Committee meeting for the year. Under the leadership of Secretary Mr. Mohammed Shahjahan, President Pavithra R., and Vice President Mr. Rohit Ramani, the meeting highlighted our ongoing commitment to fostering alumni engagement and collaboration.
The session, expertly guided by faculty members and facilitated by Mr. Sameet Joshi, Head ISR & Alumni, and Ms. Ashwini R, Alumni Coordinator, marked a significant step in strengthening our alumni network and advancing our collective goals.
We are delighted to share that Dreamzone India Pvt Ltd, a documentation service provider co-founded by Ms. Pavithra Kumar, a 2015-19 graduate from the School of Engineering (ECE), recently set up a stall outside the Admission Office. This initiative supported Pavithra’s venture and provided valuable documentation services to our students and staff.
The stall was a great success with over 200 students benefitting from the services. We extend our congratulations to Pavithra Kumar and wish her continued success with Dreamzone India Pvt Ltd.

The Indian Academy Group of Institutions recently welcomed our alumnus Syed Yunus to address the graduating class of 2022-2024 from the Pre-University program. In a motivational speech, Syed Yunus encouraged students to embrace challenges, pursue their passions, and strive for excellence. The engaging address left a lasting impact, with many students expressing appreciation for the practical advice and inspiration shared. This event highlighted the valuable role alumni play in connecting with and guiding new graduates.

We’re excited to share that Rahul David, a B. Tech 2019 alumnus, has made significant progress with his startup, Vermiterra. The company, which focuses on promoting composting through their product Wonderbin, recently received support from PSBN (Presidency School Bangalore North). In September, we connected Rahul with PSBN Principal Ms. Rekha Vinod, who facilitated sessions on composting for her students. The positive response from these sessions has greatly benefited Rahul’s venture.

The Alumni Association of Presidency University (AAPU) proudly announced the office bearers of the newly formed Executive Committee at a small ceremony on January 5, 2024, at Presidency University. The new office bearers are Ms. Pavithra K., President; Mr. Rohit Ramesh Ramani, Vice President; Mr. Mohammed Shahjahan, Secretary; Ms. Jhanvi Lokanathan, Joint Secretary; and Mr. Mohamed Ahmed, Treasurer. The University conducted alumni committee elections in December 2023.
The program was graced by the presence of university officers, Dr. Muddu Vinay, Pro Vice Chancellor; Dr. A. M. Surendra Kumar, Pro Vice Chancellor; Dr. Mohammed Sameeruddin Khan, Dean, School of Computer Science and Engineering and School of Information Science; Dr. K. Krishna Kumar, Associate Dean, School of Management; Major General Gurdeep Narang, Dean, Department of Student Affairs, and Chief Proctor; as well as the alumni committee members. The event was organized by Mr. Sameet Joshi, Head, Alumni, and ISR, and supported by Ms. Ashwini R., alumni coordinator, and Ms. Roshni Raman.

Presidency University inaugurated the B.Tech. Orientation Program for the 2023-24 academic year on September 14, 2023. The University warmly welcomed new engineering students and offered crucial guidance regarding their academic journey at the University.
The event also featured addresses from three esteemed alumni of the 2016-2020 Engineering Batch: Rohit Ramesh, who stressed the value of seizing opportunities and building networks; Vishal, who addressed industry challenges and the need for adaptability; and Mohammed Shahjahan, who underscored the importance of combining soft skills with technical expertise. Presidency University inaugurated the School of Management Orientation Program 2022-23 on September 7, 2022, welcoming the new management students. A noteworthy feature of the orientation was the participation of distinguished alumni Ms. Poulami Das Gupta, who completed her MBA in 2018. A HR specialist by profession, Ms. Gupta shared her experiences and insights, providing valuable advice to the new students for the academic journey forward.
