Professor & HOD, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering

My Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Presidency University, Bengaluru. The department started its operation after the university’s inception in 2015.

Within a span of about 8 years, the department has seen many advancements and achieved a number of milestones. From the Academic Year 2023-2024 onwards, the department will offer two new programs, namely B. Tech. VLSI and B. Tech. Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design and Technology), in addition to the existing program B. Tech. Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE). In our endeavor to keep the student community updated about recent technological advancements and learning pedagogy, our curriculum is upgraded periodically. We follow outcome-based education (OBE), thus complying with NAAC and ABET accreditation requirements.

The department is blessed with a talented pool of faculty members who have completed their Ph.D. from IITs, NITs, IITs, BITS Pilani, BIT Mesra, VTU, and other institutions of repute from India and abroad, thus offering high-quality education.

The faculty members are engaged in cutting-edge research and development activities in emerging areas like VLSI Design, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing, Communication Engineering and Networks, IoT, MEMS, Power Electronics, Optoelectronics, Antenna and Microwave Design, AI and ML applications, etc. Faculty members of the department have received research funding from ISRO, and many of them are trying to attract more research funding from various organizations.

The field of electronics and communication engineering offers excellent job opportunities in a variety of technological fields. The department has MoUs with companies like Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, etc. for student and faculty engagements. The department organizes a number of student-oriented competitions and supports project-based learning. Students are exposed to Innovative Projects in their first year, where they use Arduino and Raspberry Pi platforms. Additionally, they participate in many cultural and sporting activities. Graduates of electronics and communication engineering are employed in various VLSI industries, Public Sector Units, R&D labs, the information technology industry, and the telecommunications industry, and a few have opened their own startups. Many ECE students are pursuing their Masters and PhDs at foreign universities, and the International Relations Department of Presidency University helps our students in the identification and application process for various universities.

I am looking forward to meeting you at the Dept. of ECE, Presidency University, Bengaluru. Thanks very much for visiting our page!
