Programme Overview
In a world constantly transformed by technological innovation, we believe that language and literature are not just courses, but act as avenues leading us to understand human behaviour and the worlds around us. The undergraduate program BA in English helps students explore the diverse landscapes of literature. Our programs traverse through history of literature, classics and contemporary narratives, including Indian and world literature. The curriculum of the programs is structured after many deliberations with experts, and it provides a strong foundation in History of Literature, Studies of all genres, Indian Literature and World literature. Emphasis is also on research and academic writing. The BA in English is a holistic program that embeds discipline specific core courses along with non discipline core courses like Languages (English, Kannada, French, Japanese and German) and Media Literacy to name a few.
Students are encouraged to participate in Literary Fests, Debates, Workshops and Interdisciplinary projects. Participation in these events helps students to see literature as more than a body of texts, but as a living, evolving experience shaping the world around them.
