Presidency University organised Talangita 2025, the first-ever Student Housing Recreational Fest / Hostel Day, on November 16, 2025, at the Chokkanahalli Hostel.  The event aimed to strengthen community bonding, celebrate student talent, and enhance the hostel living experience.

The fest received tremendous participation with 627 applications (447 for sports and 180 for cultural events) and saw an attendance of approximately 2,200 students from Chokkanahalli, Itgalapura, and Paripoorna Hostels.

A variety of sports competitions—volleyball, throwball, football, tug of war, basketball, table tennis, badminton, and athletics events—encouraged teamwork, coordination, and healthy competition.

The cultural segment added energy and vibrancy through Rangoli making, solo dance, group dance, singing performances, Shayari, and the Mr. & Ms. Hosteller competition, showcasing the artistic talents of hostel residents.

Special attraction zones such as food stalls, a vintage car display, and the breakdance amusement ride enriched the festive atmosphere and drew enthusiastic participation throughout the day.

The event concluded with a lively DJ Night, where students came together to celebrate, dance, and enjoy the energetic ambience, marking a memorable end.

This student-led initiative was planned and executed by dedicated volunteers under the leadership of Mr. Samir Khan, Head – Student Housing, supported by the Student Housing Team and the Department of Student Affairs.

Talangita 2025 successfully marked its inaugural edition and will continue as an annual tradition for the hostel community.
