Faculty Mentors Training on Structured Mentoring Practices
The Student Mentoring Programme team at Presidency University organised a training session for Faculty Mentors titled “Faculty Mentoring Framework: Institutionalising Structured Mentoring Practices for Holistic Student Development and Success” on 24 January 2026, from 2.00 pm to 3.00 pm. The session was conducted by the Mentoring Coordinators of the respective schools within their departments, with the aim of strengthening structured mentoring practices and enhancing student-centred teaching and learning across the university.
The programme equipped faculty mentors with conceptual clarity and practical skills essential for effective mentoring in higher education. It highlighted mentoring as a strategic enabler of student success, addressing learner diversity, academic progression, emotional well-being and professional development. Key focus areas included structured mentoring systems aligned with institutional goals, effective communication and basic counselling skills, and participative, activity-based mentoring approaches. Interactive discussions and reflective exercises enabled mentors to contextualise strategies within their departments, reinforcing the university’s commitment to holistic student development and continuous quality enhancement.
