Dept of Civil Engg Conducts Extensive Survey Project
The School of Engineering, Presidency University, organised an Extensive Survey Project for 24 sixth-semester B.Tech Civil Engineering students from 22–30 January 2026 near Ghati Subramanya Temple, Doddaballapur. Conducted as a full-day offline field activity, the programme aimed to provide students with practical exposure to surveying techniques and real-world engineering applications. Under the guidance of faculty members from the Department of Civil Engineering, the project enabled students to apply theoretical knowledge to field-based surveying tasks and gain valuable professional experience.
During the programme, students carried out multiple survey-based projects including a new tank survey, highway survey, water supply and sanitation survey, and drone-based aerial mapping. These activities involved topographic data collection, roadway alignment studies, hydrological assessments, and the use of modern technologies such as Total Stations and PPK-based drones for accurate data acquisition and mapping. The hands-on training helped students understand site analysis, infrastructure planning, and the integration of advanced surveying tools in civil engineering practice.
The project was successfully coordinated by Mr Bhavan Kumar M along with the dedicated support of faculty members including Mr Ajay H A, Dr Blesson, Dr Venkatesha Raju, Mr Santhosh M B, Ms Anju Mathew, Mr Dayalan, Dr Shwetha, Mr Karthik M H, Mr Bibang, Mr Abubakar and Ms Bhavana. The initiative reflects Presidency University’s continued commitment to experiential learning, enabling students to develop technical competence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills essential for their future careers in civil engineering.
