Aim of NCC
The aim of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), laid down in 1988, continues to remain relevant in today’s socio-economic scenario. It focuses on developing character, discipline, comradeship, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service among the youth of India. NCC also seeks to build a pool of organised, trained, and motivated young citizens with leadership qualities who can contribute to the nation in all walks of life, regardless of their career choices. In addition, it creates an environment that encourages and inspires young Indians to join the armed forces.
Motto of NCC
The motto “Unity and Discipline” was officially adopted during the 12th CAC meeting held on October 12, 1980. The motto embodies the NCC’s core values and principles, highlighting the role of unity and self-discipline in building the nation.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) strives to instill character, leadership, and discipline, nurturing a pool of organized and motivated youth prepared to serve the nation and take up leadership roles across diverse fields, including the armed forces. A key objective is to motivate young people to pursue careers in the armed forces while fostering a sense of patriotic commitment and the ideals of selfless service.
