The School of Media Studies, Presidency University, Bangalore, is organising a three-day Short Film Workshop from 8 to 10 September 2026 for 45 students, comprising BA III Year students, selected members of the Film Club, and newly enrolled MA I Year students.

The workshop will be conducted by resource person Mr Anson Thomas, Independent Filmmaker, Film Festival Curator, and Assistant Professor at Marian College Kuttikkanam. In the first week of September, ahead of the workshop, the resource person will brief participants on the prerequisites and divide them into three groups based on their individual interests.

Objective: To provide students with practical, industry-oriented exposure to the complete short film production process, from scripting to screening.

Programme: Day 1 will focus on scripting and preparing the shooting schedule; Day 2 will be dedicated to shooting; and Day 3 will involve editing, followed by a screening of the completed short films and a valedictory function.

The workshop aims to strengthen students’ visual storytelling, teamwork, and technical filmmaking skills through direct, guided, hands-on practice.
