A two-day Podcasting and Storytelling Workshop was successfully conducted on 1–2 September 2026 at the Media Lab (LGL07), providing students with hands-on exposure to the evolving world of audio storytelling and podcast production.

The workshop brought valuable industry experience and practical insights into the classroom. Through interactive sessions and practical activities, students explored the complete process of developing an engaging podcast—from identifying compelling stories and structuring narratives to conducting effective interviews and using voice and sound creatively.

The sessions also focused on audience-centred storytelling, contemporary podcasting trends and ethical practices in content creation. Students gained insights into how podcasts are increasingly being used across journalism, education, entertainment and digital media to inform, engage and contribute to public conversations.

A key highlight of the workshop was its emphasis on learning by doing, enabling students to move beyond theoretical concepts and experience the creative and production challenges involved in audio storytelling. The industry interaction also helped students understand the skills and professional expectations required in today’s rapidly evolving media landscape.

The workshop successfully bridged classroom learning with industry practice, strengthening students’ skills in storytelling, creativity, interviewing, voice modulation, digital communication and audio production. It provided a valuable opportunity for students to learn from an industry professional while encouraging them to become confident, creative and ethical storytellers prepared to engage with the changing world of digital media.
