The School of Management (SOM), Presidency University, Bengaluru, organised a guest lecture titled ‘Inside the Stock Market – Understanding Trading Mechanisms, Order Matching and Price Discovery’ on 29 September 2026.

The session was delivered by Dr Akshay A, Associate Professor and Head of Department, M. S. Ramaiah College of Arts, Science and Commerce, who provided students with valuable insights into stock market operations and trading practices.

A total of 98 MBA students attended the session and gained practical insights into trading mechanisms, order types, order matching and price discovery. The lecture effectively connected academic concepts with real-world financial market practices.

The interactive session enhanced students’ awareness of financial markets, practical knowledge and understanding of stock exchange operations. It was well received by the participants and offered a valuable learning experience for aspiring finance professionals.

The event was coordinated by Dr Hari Haran Ravi, Dr Kushini Prasad, Associate Professor, and Dr S. Baranidharan, Assistant Professor (Senior Scale). Their efforts ensured that the session was engaging, impactful and relevant to contemporary industry practices.
