The educational visit to Krem Design Studio, near Jakkur, provided B.Des. Space Design students from the 3rd and 5th semesters with valuable insights into contemporary interior design practices and the process of translating design concepts into real-world spaces. During the visit, Mr Sandip from Krem introduced students to the professional workflow involved in transforming design ideas into functional and technically feasible interiors. The session covered concept development, spatial planning, material selection, detailing, furniture design and project execution, with a focus on the practical application of materials, hardware, finishes and furniture systems.

The visit was closely aligned with the 5th semester courses – Interior Design Studio: Corporate Interiors, Furniture and Furnishing, and Working Drawing – as well as the 3rd semester courses – Material and Technical Representation and Integrated Project Management. It aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practice, enabling students to understand how creative design decisions are translated into functional spaces through technical detailing, material applications and effective project coordination.

Overall, the visit enhanced students’ understanding of professional interior design processes and offered valuable industry exposure, strengthening their awareness of materials, hardware systems, furniture, construction details and the practical considerations involved in executing interior projects.
