The School of Design (SOD), through PSOD in collaboration with CSIC, organised a masterclass titled ‘The Future-Ready Designer: Industry Practice, Professional Skills & AI’ on 30 September 2026. The two-hour session featured Ms Charmaine Paul, Head of Content Design and UX Research Lead at HDFC Bank, and was attended by 50 students and two faculty members.

The masterclass focused on preparing students for professional design practice through Capstone Project orientation, portfolio development, design process documentation, visual storytelling, CV and professional profile development, and industry readiness. It also explored the role of AI in contemporary design practice. An expert portfolio review provided students with personalised feedback and practical recommendations to strengthen their work and align it with industry expectations.

The session offered valuable insights into recruiter expectations, professional communication and workplace etiquette, helping students build confidence in presenting their skills and design capabilities. It also provided clearer direction for Capstone Project preparation, portfolio refinement and career development, enhancing students’ readiness for industry opportunities and professional placements.
