SOC Organises Guest Talk on “Own Your Presence: Grooming, Etiquette & Self-Confidence”
Presidency School of Commerce, Presidency University, in association with the IIAAM Foundation, organised a guest talk titled “Own Your Presence: Grooming, Etiquette & Self-Confidence” on 15 October 2026. The programme was conducted from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Seminar Hall 1, F Block, and Seminar Hall 4, E Block, for BBA Aviation students. The session aimed to enhance students’ professional presentation, interpersonal communication, personal grooming, and self-confidence, equipping them with essential skills for academic, social, and professional success.
The session was led by Ms. Princy George, Former Lead Cabin Attendant at IndiGo, InterGlobe Aviation Limited, who shared valuable insights drawn from her professional experience in the aviation industry. Emphasising the importance of presentation, discipline, and effective communication in customer-facing roles, she highlighted how personal grooming, professional etiquette, positive body language, and confidence contribute to creating a strong and lasting impression.
The guest talk emphasised that professional success extends beyond academic qualifications and technical expertise. Students were encouraged to cultivate appropriate workplace behaviour, maintain professional standards, communicate clearly, demonstrate courtesy, and develop a confident and positive attitude. The session also highlighted the significance of first impressions, non-verbal communication, personal conduct, and emotional awareness in building meaningful professional relationships.
The programme offered students practical perspectives on interview preparation, adapting to professional environments, and presenting themselves effectively in perse workplace settings. Through the interaction, participants were encouraged to recognise their inpidual strengths, overcome hesitation, and approach future professional opportunities with greater confidence.
The initiative reflected the university’s commitment to holistic education by integrating employability skills and personality development into the student learning experience. It also reinforced the importance of industry interaction in preparing students for evolving career opportunities, particularly in the aviation sector, where professional appearance, interpersonal skills, and customer engagement play a significant role.
Overall, “Own Your Presence: Grooming, Etiquette & Self-Confidence” served as a valuable learning experience, inspiring BBA Aviation students to refine their professional identities, strengthen their interpersonal skills, and approach their future careers with confidence, competence, and professionalism.
