Presidency School of Commerce successfully organised a three-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Management Education: Contemporary Industry Practices and Emerging Trends” under the Vidhya Manan – Faculty Knowledge Dissemination Series from 22 to 24 June 2026.

 

The FDP was designed to strengthen faculty competencies by providing insights into contemporary business practices, emerging industry trends, innovative pedagogical approaches, and the latest technological advancements shaping management education.

 

The programme featured distinguished academicians and industry experts. Prof. Batani Raghavendra Rao, Former Professor of Finance, CMS Business School, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), and Visiting Faculty at IIM Indore, shared valuable insights on evolving financial markets and investment strategies. Mr Arvind Warrier, Lead – Learning Business Partner at Volvo AB, discussed modern human resource practices, leadership, and workplace culture. Dr Dinesh Nilkant, Provost, Presidency University, delivered an engaging session on innovative teaching methodologies and technology-enabled learning. Ms Smitha Hemmigae from ANSR explored emerging trends in marketing and consumer engagement, while Mr Parth Singh from One Million One Billion (1M1B) demonstrated the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence and analytics in business decision-making.

 

The FDP provided an excellent platform for faculty members to bridge academic knowledge with real-world industry practices, enabling them to deliver more industry-relevant and future-ready education.

 

The programme concluded successfully, reaffirming Presidency University’s commitment to academic excellence, continuous faculty development, and the promotion of innovative teaching and learning practices.
