REPORT ON “THE SILENT STRENGTH” – SESSION ON BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
The Rotaract Club of Presidency University organised a session on “The Silent Strength – Breast Cancer Awareness” on 4th November 2025 at Seminar Hall 1. The aim of the session was to spread awareness about breast cancer, its early detection, prevention, and the importance of regular self-examination among women.
The guest speaker for the event was Dr. Reshma M.A, Ayurvedic Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist, Clinical Nutritionist, Garbha Sanskar Expert and Certified Yoga Instructor. Dr. Reshma delivered an informative and insightful session on understanding breast cancer, its causes, symptoms, self-examination methods, and Ayurvedic approaches for maintaining women’s health.
She highlighted the rising incidence of breast cancer, the importance of early detection, and preventive lifestyle practices such as regular exercise, healthy diet, avoiding processed foods, and maintaining hormonal balance. The session also emphasized the value of self-breast examination (SBE) as a key to early diagnosis.
The event was graced by Dr. Sowmyashree A, Faculty Coordinator of the Rotaract Club, who attended and guided the proceedings. All Board of Directors and Office Bearers of the Rotaract Club actively participated and ensured smooth coordination of the event.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A where students clarified their doubts and appreciated the valuable insights shared by the speaker. Overall, the event successfully created awareness and encouraged participants to prioritize their health and regular check-ups.
