The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (PSCSE), Presidency University, Bengaluru, organized a seminar titled “Quantum Computing for Computer Science Engineers: Fundamentals and Quantum Circuit Implementation” on Friday, 20th February 2026, from 09:00 AM to 10:40 AM at L Block Ground Floor Lab-1. The event aimed to introduce students to the rapidly evolving field of quantum computing by bridging theoretical physics concepts with practical engineering applications. The seminar began with a formal welcome and an introduction of the resource person, setting the stage for an insightful technical session.

The seminar was delivered by Dr. H. Aswathaman, Head of the Department of Physics at Sapthagiri NPS University, Bangalore, who brought over two decades of academic and research experience. He elaborated on the fundamentals of quantum computing, explaining how quantum principles differ from classical computing approaches. The session further explored the physical realization of quantum computers, highlighting the hardware requirements and the role of nano-dielectric materials in computing systems. Dr. Aswathaman also introduced students to quantum circuit implementation, providing a foundational understanding of circuit design and its practical relevance.

The event concluded with an engaging interactive session where students actively participated by asking questions and clarifying concepts. The seminar significantly enhanced students’ understanding of quantum computing and its interdisciplinary nature, motivating them to explore further research and career opportunities in this emerging domain. The program ended with a formal vote of thanks and the felicitation of the guest speaker, marking the successful completion of an informative and inspiring academic event.
