The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (PSCS), Presidency University, Bengaluru, organised a six-hour workshop on “Python-Based Embedded Systems and IoT Using Raspberry Pi” on 23 September 2026, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Conducted in offline mode, the workshop brought together 50 students for an interactive and practical learning experience focused on embedded systems and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

The workshop was led by Mr Harish N, CTO, Karunadu Technologies, Bengaluru, and Mr Mahesh Deginal, CEO, Karunadu Technologies, Bengaluru. The sessions covered an introduction to IoT and Raspberry Pi, real-world applications and use cases, Python programming for embedded applications, GPIO interfacing, sensor and peripheral integration, and the development of Raspberry Pi-based IoT solutions. Participants gained hands-on exposure to developing and testing applications, with an emphasis on connecting theoretical concepts to practical implementation.

The workshop enhanced participants’ understanding of Raspberry Pi architecture, Python programming, GPIO control, sensor interfacing and IoT-based system development. Participants found the sessions informative, interactive and well structured, and appreciated the practical demonstrations and hands-on activities. The workshop also helped build confidence in developing basic Raspberry Pi-based embedded and IoT applications and encouraged participants to explore more advanced applications in Python, embedded systems and IoT.
