The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (PSCS), Presidency University, Bengaluru, organised an expert session on Agentic AI on 18 September 2026 at F Block, Seminar Hall 1. The two-hour offline session was attended by 100 students and was convened by Dr Asif Mohamed H B, Associate Professor & Head. The programme was coordinated by Mr H Senthil Kumar and Mrs Sunitha B J, Assistant Professors, PSCS.

The session was led by Mr Vijay Raj Ramaratinam, Product Manager, NXP Semiconductors, USA, who introduced participants to the emerging field of Agentic AI and its applications. The session covered the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and Agentic AI, real-world applications and use cases, and the capabilities of AI agents to perceive, reason, plan, make decisions and execute tasks with minimal human intervention. Participants were also introduced to concepts including LLMs, tools, APIs, memory, external knowledge, multi-agent systems, prompt engineering and agent orchestration.

The event provided students with valuable insights into the working principles, applications, challenges and ethical considerations of autonomous AI systems. It also enhanced their awareness of emerging research, innovation and career opportunities in Agentic AI, while encouraging them to explore its potential in solving complex real-world problems and developing intelligent solutions.
