The School of Computer Science and Engineering (PSCS) organised an industry expert talk titled “Campus to Corporate: Decoding HR Expectations” on 12 August 2026 at the Auditorium. The session, attended by 200 students and 10 faculty members, was designed to help students understand the transition from university to the professional workplace and develop the skills expected by employers. Convened by Dr Nagaraja S R, HoD, PSCS, and coordinated by Dr Vidhya Rengasamy, Assistant Professor, PSCS, the programme provided practical guidance on corporate culture, workplace behaviour, professional etiquette, employability and career readiness.

The session featured Charles Godwin, HR Leader at Zoho Corporation and Public Speaker, an experienced HR professional with over 20 years of industry experience in talent acquisition, talent management, talent engagement, talent development and HR business partnering. Drawing on his extensive experience at Zoho Corporation and other leading organisations, he discussed employer expectations from fresh graduates, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, critical thinking, adaptability, professionalism, positive attitude and continuous learning. Students also received practical guidance on resume preparation, interview techniques and workplace etiquette, followed by an interactive Q&A session on recruitment and career-related concerns.

The programme enhanced students’ awareness of corporate expectations and encouraged them to focus on continuous professional development alongside their academic learning. Participants particularly valued the practical insights into HR practices at the corporate level, interview preparation, communication and workplace behaviour, while the resource person appreciated their active participation and enthusiasm. The session reinforced the importance of developing technical, interpersonal and professional competencies to become industry-ready and provided scope for continued industry–academia interaction and career guidance initiatives, with insights from the Zoho Corporation ecosystem adding significant value to the students’ understanding of the corporate world.
