PSAIAC Conducts Two-Day FDP on End-to-End Quantum Computing
The Presidency School of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing (PSAIAC), Presidency University, successfully conducted a two-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled ‘End-to-End Quantum Computing: From Concepts to Real QPU Execution’ on 10 and 11 September 2026 at Presidency University, Bengaluru.
The FDP was designed to provide faculty members and research scholars with a practical understanding of the complete quantum computing workflow—from fundamental concepts and quantum circuit development to simulator-based validation and execution on real Quantum Processing Units (QPUs).
The programme was conducted by Mr Tilak R Bakale, Quantum Solution Engineer, Digitoad Technologies Pvt. Ltd., who guided participants through the concepts, tools and practical aspects of quantum computing using the qBraid platform, including qBraid Lab, qBook and Runtime.
The sessions covered the fundamentals of quantum computing, including qubits, basis states, quantum gates, superposition, phase and measurement. Participants also explored multi-qubit systems, controlled operations, CNOT gates, entanglement and Bell states, along with the Deutsch–Jozsa algorithm.
A key focus of the FDP was hands-on exploration of the end-to-end quantum workflow. Participants gained practical experience in designing quantum circuits, working with simulators, submitting and monitoring quantum jobs, retrieving results and interpreting outputs. The programme also introduced participants to the differences between ideal simulators, noisy simulators and real QPU hardware.
The hands-on activities enabled participants to execute quantum circuits using X, H and Z gates, construct multi-qubit circuits using CNOT gates, generate Bell states and analyse correlated measurement outcomes. Participants also compared simulator results with real QPU executions to understand the impact of noise and hardware limitations in practical quantum computing.
The programme was attended by 50 faculty members and research scholars from various departments. The FDP provided participants with foundational knowledge as well as practical exposure to emerging quantum computing technologies and tools.
The programme concluded with participants gaining an understanding of the complete quantum computing workflow and developing practical familiarity with qBraid, quantum simulators and real QPU execution.
