The Department of Student Affairs, in collaboration with the Department of Discipline, Sports & NCC, celebrated National Youth Day on the occasion of the 164th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The event was held with great zeal and enthusiasm on 14 January 2026, with the active participation of students from Presidency University. A cultural programme, followed by a pledge to make India drug-free under the Nasha Mukt Bharat initiative, was also organised on the occasion.

As part of the celebration, a 2 km run was flagged off within the university campus by Col. P. L. Jayram to promote fitness, discipline, and unity among the youth. More than 150 students from the Department of NCC, Sports, and other DSA clubs participated, demonstrating remarkable energy, commitment, and a strong spirit of sportsmanship.

Following the run, a National Youth Day Pledge was administered, during which students pledged to uphold the values of integrity, discipline, patriotism, and social responsibility. The pledge ceremony instilled a strong sense of responsibility and national pride among the participants.

The event concluded successfully with enthusiastic student participation through poetry recitations and excerpts from the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, reinforcing the vital role of youth in nation-building and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
