National Mediation Competition Champions the Spirit of Dialogue
“In mediation, we don’t win or lose — we understand.”
With this spirit, the ADR Committee at Presidency School of Law organised a two-day National Mediation Competition held on November 15–16, 2025. The objective of the competition was to promote a culture of amicable dispute resolution among law students by encouraging mediation as a preferred method over adversarial litigation. The competition brought together 44 teams from national law universities and other prestigious law universities across India.
The event opened with a dignified inaugural ceremony by Rtd Justice Shri Sudhindra Rao, Chairman of the Authority and Rtd Justice of the Police Complaints Authority, and a keynote address by Shri Vignesh Kumar, Deputy Director of the Arbitration and Conciliation Center, Bengaluru. The competition witnessed 52 assessors during these two days from reputed law firms, arbitration and mediation centres, the High Court of Karnataka and the Supreme Court.
The event concluded with awards, valedictory remarks by Adv. (Dr) Ashok Yende and Dr. Subroto Roy, mediators of the Supreme Court, and networking among the students.
