Industry Expectations of the Modern Software Developer: AI Tools and Emerging Trends
The Presidency School of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with the HARVEST Club, successfully organised a Technical Talk titled “Industry Expectations of the Modern Software Developer: AI Tools and Emerging Trends” on 28 January 2026 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at E Block, Seminar Hall – 03. The event aimed to familiarise students with the rapidly evolving software industry, driven by Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies. The distinguished resource persons, Mr Ganesh Rajasekaran, Chief Technical Architect, and Mr Sundar N, Data Strategist and AI Expert from GAAN Software, shared valuable insights into current industry expectations, essential skill sets, and the expanding role of AI in modern software development.
A key highlight of the session was the detailed explanation and live demonstration of TRAE AI, during which the speakers illustrated AI workflows, decision pipelines, and real-world applications using flowcharts and practical examples. The programme also featured an interactive question-and-answer session, with active participation from students on topics such as AI tools, career opportunities, and future industry trends. The technical talk emphasised the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and hands-on exposure to AI technologies. The event was attended by 108 students and 5 faculty members and concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the successful completion of an informative and engaging academic activity.
