Presidency University Bengaluru hosted Dr Dhanesh G. Mohan, Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader – BEng (Hons) Sustainable Design Engineering at the University of Sunderland, UK, for an insightful session on “AI for Additive Manufacturing” with students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

The session explored what happened when artificial intelligence met the future of manufacturing, with students gaining insights into how AI was reshaping design optimisation, engineering decision-making and advanced manufacturing processes. Beyond the technical aspects, the session encouraged students to think beyond conventional engineering paradigms and examine how interdisciplinary technologies were redefining what was possible in manufacturing.

The visit also included a faculty interaction, which provided an opportunity for academic exchange and discussions on potential future collaboration, including short-term programmes and joint projects.

This engagement was made possible through the efforts of Mr Jamie Simpson, whose continued support was instrumental in steering the collaboration towards a lasting partnership.
