Event Report – Sihi Sankranti Celebration
The Rotaract Club organised a joyful and meaningful outreach program on the occasion of Sihi Sankranti at the Mathrubelaku Foundation on 25th January (Sunday) at 2:00 PM. The event was conducted with the objective of spreading awareness about the cultural importance of the festival and creating a memorable experience for the children.
A total of 9 volunteers actively participated in the event, engaging with 10 children and 3 teachers from the foundation. The session began with an interactive talk explaining the significance of Sihi Sankranti and its values of gratitude, harvest celebration, and togetherness. The children were then provided with crayons and drawing sheets, and a coloring activity was conducted where the volunteers guided and encouraged them to express their creativity.
To make the event more lively and enjoyable, fun games were organised, followed by singing and dancing sessions where both the volunteers and children enthusiastically participated. Sweets were distributed to all, symbolising the sweetness of the festival and sharing moments of happiness together.
The event concluded on a cheerful note with group interactions, songs, and smiles, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. Overall, the program was a great success, fostering cultural awareness, joy, and bonding between the volunteers and the children, making it a truly memorable Sihi Sankranti celebration.
