Ethnic Day 2026 Celebrated with Vibrance and Cultural Pride

An electrifying afternoon unfolded on the Presidency University campus on 25th February as Ethnic Day 2026 was proudly organised by the Department of Student Affairs. The celebrations commenced at 2.30 pm, with the opening band energising the audience through lively Kannada and Hindi songs, instantly captivating the crowd.

 

The event continued with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, graced by our Honourable Vice President, Salman Ahmed; PVC, Dr Vidya Shankar Shetty; and Dean – DSA, Dr Anu Sukhdev. The atmosphere was further elevated with an invocation song and captivating dance performances, officially declaring Ethnic Day 2026 open.

 

India’s rich cultural heritage came alive through vibrant performances, including the rhythmic Kodava dance and several other traditional showcases, each reflecting stories of heritage and pride. A spectacular fashion parade by various teams followed, setting the stage ablaze with a blend of traditional attire and contemporary style. Musical performances by budding artists added to the festive spirit, keeping the audience thoroughly engaged.

 

Across the lawns, a variety of food stalls added flavour to the celebrations, as students relished delicious treats while immersing themselves in the joyous atmosphere.

The evening concluded on a high note with an energetic DJ set that kept the crowd enthralled until the very end. Ethnic Day 2026 was not merely an event, but a vibrant celebration of identity, tradition and togetherness.
