The Department of Physics is organising a seminar titled “Introduction to Quantum Computing with Spin Qubits: Fundamentals, Principles, and Physical Realisations” on 14 October 2026 at 2:30 pm in F Block Seminar Hall 1.

The seminar aims to provide participants with a conceptual understanding of quantum computing using spin qubits. The talk will introduce the fundamental principles of quantum computing with spin qubits and provide insights into current developments, opportunities and challenges in quantum spin-qubit technologies.

The event is intended to bridge the gap between fundamental physics and modern technological applications, encouraging students and faculty to explore the rapidly developing field of quantum computing and its interdisciplinary opportunities.

The invited talk will provide an introductory overview of the following topics:

  • Fundamentals of Spin Qubits

  • Principles of Quantum Computing

  • Physical Realisation and Current Quantum Computers

The session will be delivered by Dr Sijo K. Joseph, who has completed postdoctoral research at Tel Aviv University, Israel, and has worked as a Research Scientist in the USA.
