Dept. of EEE Organises Industrial Visit to Mother Dairy, Bengaluru

September, 2026
ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS
;

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Presidency School of Engineering, successfully organised an industrial visit to Mother Dairy, Yelahanka, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on 21 September 2026. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to industrial automation and modern dairy processing operations.

The primary objective of the visit was to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industrial practice by familiarising students with the electrical systems, automation technologies and process control mechanisms employed in the dairy industry.

During the visit, students gained insights into the various stages of dairy processing, including milk reception, quality testing, pasteurisation, homogenisation, processing, packaging and storage. They also learnt about the role of industrial automation in ensuring process efficiency, product quality, operational safety and consistency in production.

The visit provided students with an opportunity to understand the applications of electrical drives, motors, sensors, instrumentation, control systems and automated material-handling equipment in industrial environments. They also gained an appreciation of how automation and monitoring systems contribute to process optimisation, energy efficiency, reduced manual intervention and improved productivity.

The industrial visit offered valuable practical learning experiences and helped students understand the real-world applications of electrical engineering principles in the dairy and food-processing industries. It also enhanced their awareness of industrial operations, automation practices and the importance of electrical engineering in modern manufacturing and processing facilities.

Overall, the visit served as a valuable learning experience, complementing classroom instruction and encouraging students to connect their academic knowledge with practical industrial applications.
