Objective of the Event

The objective of the Domain-Specific Placement Training on “AI/ML Applications in Power System Protection Schemes” is to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques in modern power system protection.

The training aims to develop practical knowledge of fault detection, classification, fault location, protection algorithms, data analysis and intelligent decision-making to improve the reliability and security of power systems.

The programme will focus on AI/ML-based protection strategies, feature extraction, model development, real-time monitoring, system security and practical implementation. It will also familiarise participants with industry practices, emerging intelligent protection technologies and practical challenges in power system applications.

Ultimately, the programme seeks to enhance students’ technical and analytical skills and prepare them for real-world power system applications, industry requirements and career opportunities in AI/ML and electrical power engineering.
