Dept. of Civil Engg. Hosts Webinar on Global Housing Design
The Department of Civil Engineering at Presidency University, Bengaluru, hosted an engaging webinar on Global Housing Design in collaboration with the University of Liverpool. The session was delivered by Johanna Muszbek, Senior Lecturer at the Liverpool School of Architecture.
The webinar offered a comprehensive exploration of contemporary global housing challenges, emphasising the need for innovative, multidisciplinary and design-led solutions. The speaker introduced the MSc Global Housing Design programme, highlighting its distinctive focus on integrating architecture, urban planning, policy and social sciences to address the global housing crisis.
Through insightful case studies and international examples, the session examined key concepts such as density versus intensity, sustainable urban development, adaptive reuse and collective housing models. Participants gained valuable exposure to global perspectives, design strategies and emerging research directions, along with guidance on academic opportunities and international collaborations.
