The Department of Civil Engineering, Presidency University, in association with the ACCE (I) Student Chapter, Presidency University, and the ACCE (I) Bangalore Chapter, successfully organised a technical session on “Techniques and Practices for Structural Retrofitting & Deep Excavation Protection” as part of the Engineers’ Week Lecture Series, commemorating Engineers’ Day and the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya.

The session was delivered by Er R. Rajesh Kannan, Founder & CEO, INCI RETROFIT, who shared valuable insights into structural repair and retrofitting, strengthening techniques for structural elements, retaining walls, deep excavation methods, and real-world industry case studies.

The programme was graced by Er Sunil Kumar, MC Member, ACCE (I) Bangalore Chapter, and Er Shashank Sharma, Sr DGM, RAMCO Cements. Er Shashank highlighted emerging opportunities in the construction sector, current industry trends, and innovative technologies such as 3D concrete printing.

The interactive session provided Civil Engineering students with practical exposure to contemporary challenges and solutions in structural rehabilitation and geotechnical engineering, helping bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practice.
