Presidency School of Media Studies (PSOMS) organised a comprehensive two-day workshop (5–6 February 2026) titled “AI Tools for Media and Communication”, led by Dr Gaman P, Associate Professor (Selection Grade), School of Design, Presidency University, Bangalore. This intensive programme was designed to bridge the gap between traditional media practices and the rapidly evolving landscape of generative AI. Recognising the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on journalism and storytelling, the workshop provided a balanced blend of theoretical frameworks and hands-on technical training.

The event examined how AI is reshaping the media industry, covering key areas including automated content creation, data-driven journalism, and visual storytelling. Dr Gaman P guided participants through the ethical implications of AI, emphasising responsible innovation and the importance of a “human-in-the-loop” approach. Students and faculty engaged with industry-standard AI platforms to create multimedia content, explore predictive analytics for audience engagement, and automate routine newsroom tasks.

The workshop concluded with a post-session assessment to evaluate the AI readiness of the participants, ensuring they are equipped to navigate the digital-first era of media and communication.
