The Presidency School of Design (SOD) organised a full-day 2D Masterclass on the Traditional Animation Process for second-semester Multimedia students as part of the course BSM2001: Introduction to 2D Animation. The hands-on masterclass introduced learners to the fundamental principles of traditional cell animation, including movement, timing, frames and visual storytelling. Through practical exercises and expert guidance, students developed a foundational understanding of animation workflows while exploring animation as both a creative discipline and a potential career pathway.

Mr Midhun K. Benny is a freelance 2D Animator and Visual Storyteller with expertise in traditional animation techniques, character animation and visual narrative development. He has worked on creative animation projects that combine artistic expression with industry-standard production practices. Passionate about animation education, he regularly conducts workshops and masterclasses to introduce students to the foundations of classical animation and visual storytelling. His teaching approach emphasises experiential learning, enabling learners to understand movement, timing, composition and sequential art through hands-on practice. By bridging artistic creativity with technical proficiency, Mr Benny equips aspiring animators with the essential skills required to pursue careers in animation, multimedia, gaming and other creative industries.
