The Debate Society of Presidency University, Bengaluru is a vibrant club focusing on Public Speaking, Extempore speaking, Model United Nations and all kinds of Debate as well. Debate Society is a distinguished platform, promoting the notion of intellectual growth and critical thinking, primarily through the art of Debate. It is one of the most active clubs in Presidency University, having attributed to conduct events like ‘Samvad’, ‘Vaghvad’, ‘Vox Populi’ and ‘Rise and Rhetorise’ as well. The Debate Society of Presidency University is set to gear up for various upcoming events like ‘Chronicles of Oratory’

To brief about the recent activities conducted by the Debate Society, namely ‘Vox Populi’ and ‘Rise and Rhetorise’, Vox Populi was a debate competition based on All India Political Party Meet (AIPPM) wherein it was a stimulation of the Parliamentary Proceedings to discuss one of the serious issues of the country “Hindi as a national language: A step towards Unity or Cultural Erasure?”. ‘Rise and Rhetorise’ was a dynamic and intellectually stimulating competition designed to push participants beyond their comfort zones. It was structured as a two-round elimination challenge, testing skills such as spontaneity, structured thinking, persuasive speaking, and the ability to handle pressure.
