SOL Announces National Blog Writing Competition 2026

The IPR & Technology Law Committee, School of Law, Presidency University, Bengaluru, is pleased to announce the National Blog Writing Competition, 2026, scheduled to be held on 18 April 2026.

 

This initiative seeks to cultivate rigorous academic engagement at the intersection of Intellectual Property Rights and Technology Law. The competition aims to provide a distinguished platform for students to critically examine contemporary legal developments arising from rapid technological innovation and digital transformation.

 

Themes (Indicative, Not Exhaustive)

  • Emerging trends in copyright, patent and trademark law in the digital environment, including AI-generated content

  • Data protection, cybersecurity and platform liability

  • Regulation of artificial intelligence vis-à-vis intellectual property frameworks

  • Fair use, open access movements and the balance between innovation and public interest

Eligibility

 

The competition is open to undergraduate and postgraduate law students across India.

 

Competition Structure

 

The event will be conducted in structured stages comprising:

 

  1. 1. Abstract submission

  2. 2. Evaluative feedback

  3. 3. Final blog submission

  4. 4. Presentation before an adjudicatory panel

 

Awards

  • Winner – ₹7,000

  • Runner-up – ₹5,000

  • Second Runner-up – ₹3,000

E-certificates will be issued to all participants.

  • Abstract Submission Deadline – 10 March 2026

  • Final Blog Submission Deadline – 5 April 2026

  • Panel Discussion and Presentation – 18 April 2026

Registration Fees

  • Single Authorship – ₹300

  • Co-authorship – ₹500
