PSAIAC Signs MoU with EC-Council to Enhance Cybersecurity Education

The Presidency School of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing (PSAIAC), Presidency University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EC-Council (International Council of E-Commerce Consultants) on 12 June 2026 at the VC Board Room, Bengaluru. The partnership marks a significant milestone in strengthening cybersecurity education, ethical hacking training, and industry–academia collaboration.

 

EC-Council is a globally recognised organisation specialising in cybersecurity certifications, technology solutions, and innovation-driven training programmes. Renowned for its industry-leading certifications and professional development initiatives, EC-Council plays a pivotal role in advancing cybersecurity education, ethical hacking, digital forensics, and cyber defence capabilities across academia and industry.

 

The MoU reflects a shared commitment between Presidency University and EC-Council to promote globally recognised certification programmes, advanced technical training, research collaboration, and experiential learning opportunities for students and faculty in cybersecurity and emerging technologies.

 

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by the University's distinguished academic leaders, including Dr Thiruvengadam, Vice Chancellor; Dr Sivaperumal S., Pro Vice Chancellor; Dr Venkateswaran S., Registrar; Dr Shakkeera L., Dean – PSAIAC; Dr Anandaraj S. P., Head of Department – PSAIAC; Dr Pravinth Raja, Head of Department – PSAIAC; Dr Robin Rohit Vincent, Head, NVIDIA Centre of Excellence – PSAIAC; Dr Zafar Ali Khan N., Head of Department – PSAIAC; and faculty members.

 

Representing EC-Council was Mr Kartik Atri, Associate Director – India, whose presence underscored the shared commitment to strengthening cybersecurity education, industry-oriented learning, and institutional partnerships.

 

The initiative was successfully coordinated by Mr Likhith S. R., Assistant Professor – PSAIAC, and Ms Rakheeba Taseen, Assistant Professor – PSAIAC.

Under the MoU, Presidency University and EC-Council will collaborate to deliver globally recognised cybersecurity certification programmes, workshops, seminars, boot camps, masterclasses, and cyber drills. The partnership also envisages hands-on training in ethical hacking, penetration testing, and digital forensics, the establishment of a Cybersecurity Excellence and Training Centre (subject to feasibility), faculty development initiatives, joint research projects, consultancy activities, internships, industry mentoring, career guidance, placement support, and cybersecurity awareness programmes.

 

The collaboration aims to enhance students' cybersecurity knowledge and practical skills through industry-relevant training and globally recognised certifications while improving employability through skill-based learning initiatives. It will also encourage participation in cybersecurity competitions, cyber drills, and innovation activities, strengthen faculty expertise through specialised workshops and expert-led sessions, and foster research and collaboration in emerging cybersecurity domains.

 

The partnership is expected to increase student participation in cybersecurity training and certification programmes, enhance the technical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities of students and faculty, provide greater exposure to real-world cybersecurity practices, improve industry readiness, strengthen industry–academia partnerships, expand research and consultancy opportunities, and contribute to the development of a sustainable cybersecurity learning ecosystem within the University.

 

This MoU represents another significant step in Presidency University's commitment to academic excellence, industry collaboration, cybersecurity education, and technology-driven learning, equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to meet the evolving demands of the digital world.
