Why Law Needs Empaths, Artists, and Activists

We tend to picture lawyers in sharp suits, armed with logic and precision. But law is not only about rules. This is something we emphasize at Presidency University, especially at the Presidency School of Law where is believed that empaths, artists, and activists have active role in evolving the legal system.
Empaths bring human essence into the courtroom and classroom. They get the unspoken and lend their voice to those who cannot find it for themselves—be it in cases of domestic violence, children in conflict zones, or migrant workers without papers but with a very real story.
Artists fill in the space that is often left out of consideration in creativity. The artist- lawyer becomes the new format of justice in a world where AI is drafting contracts and algorithms predicting crimes; be it through film, poetry, courtroom visuals, or accessible legal design.
Activists stand for powerful exemplars to remind us that sometimes the law is outdated. They challenge its limits, illuminate its silences, and seek to amend antiquated systems. From climate change to gender equality, it is largely the activist lawyers behind these meaningful changes.
So if you feel too sensitive, too imaginative, or just too rebellious for being in law; you are what the system needs. At Presidency School of Law, we believe the future of law is not just for those with logic, but for those with soul as well.
