Human Conscience > AI’s Conscience

Exploring the Superiority of Human Moral Judgment in the Age of AI
Hamid, Judge:
Am I being judgmental?
Considering his poor social conditions and good character, a little empathy is necessary.
An optimal punishment of 2 years is accorded and deserved. So, do you doubt my conscience?
Oh, you don’t believe me anymore.
AT480, Judge (an AI Bot):
The law prescribes exactly 3 years, and thence he shall be punished in stricto sensu, no matter what!
Look, it’s simple. We are in the ‘Cyber Age’. People believe me more than you.
My ‘conscience’ is labeled as perfect.

On one hand, technology is a boon to mankind and on the other hand, technology cannot per- dominate the very human ‘conscience’. One cannot sacrifice the life of an individual in the name of the ‘Holy AI’.
At Presidency University, especially within the Presidency School of Law, we engage deeply with questions like:
‘Ethics’, ‘Empathy’, ‘Sympathetic’, ‘Accountability’, ‘Humane’ & ‘Intuition’.
Are these word have any voice?
Are we in a deplorable state of affairs that is deplorable?
“Is a machine truly moral, or merely mimicking morality?”
Summing up: “AI can simulate logic, but only humans feel the weight of right and wrong.”
And at Presidency School of Law, this human dimension remains at the heart of our legal education.
