World Food Day Celebrated with Compassion and Care

29-October-2025

The Culinary and Nutrition Club observed World Food Day by organising a community initiative titled “Sustainable Plate” on October 29, 2025.

Student volunteers and the faculty coordinator visited Punarjanmaa Charitable Trust, Vidyaranyapura, a home to 17 children, and served fresh, homemade, nutritious vegetarian meals, sharing not just food but warmth and compassion. Alongside the meal distribution, an interactive awareness session was conducted, educating the children about the importance of healthy eating habits and the long-term effects of unhealthy food choices.

To make the day more memorable, the volunteers organised engaging games, dance sessions, and a small gift-distribution ceremony, filling the environment with joy and laughter.

The event concluded on a heartwarming note, as university students and children shared smiles, gratitude, and unforgettable moments“Sustainable Plate” not only fostered awareness on mindful eating but also reinforced the values of community service, empathy, and responsible living—truly embodying the spirit and mission of World Food Day.
