Workshop on Strengthening OBE Practices

03-December-2025

Presidency School of Liberal Arts and Sciences organised a workshop on “OBE in Action: Course Plans, Catalogues & Faculty Responsibilities” on December 3, 2025. The session aimed to strengthen faculty understanding of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and its application in curriculum design and academic documentation.

The sessions were led by Dr Tychicus David. In the first session, Dr David introduced the evolution of OBE and explained key components such as PEOs, POs, PSOs, and COs, using simple examples like the Bloom’s Taxonomy “Tomato Example” to illustrate outcome progression.

In the second session he provided hands-on training, where faculty drafted measurable COs, mapped them to POs and PSOs, and worked on the updated Course Plan template with guidance from the facilitator.

The event concluded with a strong interest in follow-up sessions on assessment design, rubric development, and CO attainment analysis.

Faculty members found the workshop practical, insightful, and essential for improving OBE documentation and curriculum alignment.
