The School of Commerce organised a Workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) on 1 December 2025, aimed at strengthening academic planning and quality assurance practices among faculty members.

The session was delivered by Dr Thiruvengadam, Honourable Vice Chancellor, who provided in-depth insights into the core principles, relevance, and practical implementation of Outcome-Based Education in higher education institutions. The discussion emphasised the need to align curriculum objectives with clearly defined learning outcomes to enhance teaching effectiveness and student performance.

A key focus of the workshop was Course Outcome–Programme Outcome (CO–PO) mapping, highlighting its critical role in integrating curriculum design, teaching–learning methodologies, and assessment mechanisms with expected outcomes. The session enabled faculty members to gain a clear understanding of outcome alignment, systematic academic planning, and continuous quality improvement.
