Visit to Plus Light Tech Experience Centre

22-January-2026

The 6th Semester Space Design students participated in an enriching industrial visit to the Plus Light Tech Experience Centre, gaining valuable insights into professional lighting systems and their real-world applications. The visit effectively bridged theoretical knowledge with practical implementation in lighting design.

The session was conducted by Ms Yeshaswini, who provided a comprehensive overview of the lighting industry. She explained the working principles of various lighting systems, their components, technical specifications, and applications within interior and architectural spaces. Through detailed demonstrations, students gained a clear understanding of how lighting solutions influence spatial quality, functionality, and user experience.

Students were introduced to a wide range of luminaires, light sources, fixtures, and control systems, along with their practical application across diverse spatial contexts. The session also covered current industry practices, selection criteria, and emerging trends in lighting design, offering students a holistic understanding of the profession.

The interaction was highly engaging, with students actively participating through questions and discussions. Sufficient time was allocated for clarification, ensuring a thorough understanding of lighting concepts and their application in professional practice.

Overall, the visit proved to be an informative and inspiring learning experience. It significantly enhanced students’ understanding of lighting design, industry standards, and real-world applications, making it a meaningful experiential learning opportunity aligned with their academic curriculum.

This visit was particularly crucial for 6th Semester students of Advanced Retail Lighting and Interior Design Studio, as it provided real-life exposure to professional lighting systems and applications. Interaction with the lighting consultant offered valuable hands-on learning, directly contributing to effective lighting strategies and improved design outcomes in studio projects.
