Students of the Presidency School of Media Studies (PSoMS) and the Presidency School of Liberal Arts and Sciences (PSoLAS), Presidency University, Bengaluru, attended a book launch and student interaction session organised by the Karnataka Media Academy on 18 September 2026. The event featured eminent journalist and author Maya Sharma and was held as part of a discussion around her newly launched book, Good News Bad News.

The event brought together students from different universities, providing them with an opportunity to interact with Maya Sharma and learn about her experiences in journalism and the media industry. The session focused on discussions around journalism, media and professional experiences gained through years of working in the field.

Students actively participated in the interaction, raising questions on various aspects of journalism and the media profession. Maya Sharma’s responses offered students an opportunity to understand the field from the perspective of an experienced media professional and relate the discussion to their academic learning.

The interaction also provided students with an opportunity to engage with professionals beyond the classroom and gain a broader understanding of the media industry. The questions raised by the students contributed to an engaging and interactive discussion throughout the session.

The event concluded with students gaining valuable insights from their interaction with Maya Sharma. The participating schools congratulated Maya Sharma on the launch of her book and wished her success in her future endeavours.
