SOMS Eco-Lens 2026 Photography Competition Announced

12-April-2026

In celebration of World Film Photography Day (12 April), the Presidency School of Media Studies is planning to organise an inter-university photography competition that invites students to capture the profound and often complex relationship between the natural world and human existence. This event will serve as a platform for aspiring visual storytellers to showcase their technical prowess and creative perspectives through the timeless medium of photography.

Eco-Lens 2026 – Intersection of Nature and Humanity is designed to challenge students to move beyond simple aesthetics and explore thematic depth. The competition focuses on the intersection of nature and humanity, highlighting harmony, conflict, and shared resilience between the two. Participants are encouraged to use photography as a tool for environmental advocacy and social commentary, demonstrating how a single frame can narrate a larger story of our global heritage.

Last date for submission: 12 April 2026
Exhibition: The best 50 photographs will be exhibited on campus
