The School of Media Studies (SOMS), Presidency University, Bengaluru, organised a Photography and Videography Workshop in collaboration with Canon India on 15 October 2026 at the L Block Seminar Hall. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ technical knowledge, camera-handling skills and visual storytelling abilities through industry-led learning.

The photography session was led by Mr Siltu Ghosh, while Mr Nagesh conducted the session on videography and cinematography. Through expert demonstrations, technical discussions and practical insights, students explored key aspects of photography and videography, including camera handling, composition, exposure, lighting techniques, cinematography and visual storytelling. The sessions also introduced participants to professional camera systems and their applications in video production, helping them understand how technical choices shape the quality and impact of visual content.

The interactive workshop encouraged students to strengthen their creative perspectives and practical skills, preparing them for careers in filmmaking, photography, digital media and content production. SOMS extends its sincere gratitude to Mr Siltu Ghosh, Mr Nagesh and the Canon India team for sharing their expertise, and acknowledges the faculty members, organising team and participating students for making the workshop a valuable industry-oriented learning experience.
