The School of Management (SOM), Presidency University, hosted an MoU signing ceremony with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) on 6 August 2026 at the VC Board Room, Central Administration Building, Presidency University, Bengaluru. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Thiruvengadam, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Dinesh Nilkant, Provost; Dr. Venkateswaran S., Registrar, senior faculty members and administrative leaders. Ms. Barkha Nigam, Assistant Manager, NISM, represented NISM on behalf of Mr. Sanjeev Bajaj, General Manager.

The partnership aims to strengthen industry–academia engagement by providing students with access to NISM's industry-recognised certification examinations and e-learning courses, which can be offered as skill-oriented or credit courses. The collaboration will also support faculty development, with NISM providing pedagogical resources, assessment tools and expert-led sessions. It further includes provisions for computer-based examinations, faculty training as certified invigilators, and enhanced placement and industry-connect opportunities for qualifying students in the financial sector.

The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Venkateswaran S., Registrar, Presidency University, and Ms. Barkha Nigam, NISM, in the presence of the University leadership and faculty members. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Krishna Kumar, Dean, who acknowledged the contributions of NISM, Career Services, Industry Connect and the faculty.
